The first time I remember being in love with Dolly Parton, I was around ten years old and she was greeting me as I walked into her Pigeon Forge, Tennessee resort, Dollywood.
Now. Was it really her – no.
Was she on the grounds while was there – also no.
Was it just as magical as I had imagined – absolutely.
I’d listened to Dolly on the radio my entire life, and still to this day have her bookmarked on my favorite artists in my jeep and change the radio station anytime,
1. Jolene
2. Islands in the Stream
3. Here You Come Again
4. 9 to 5
5. I Will Always Love You, or
6. Coat of Many Colors
comes on.
And while she’s put out some BANGERS – one of the main reasons i’m so drawn to her is because of her CLASS.
She grew up dirt poor, but you never would’ve known it. Whenever I get too high above the clouds, my main man up above always comes through with a Coat of Many Colors moment. My homegirl Dolly never fails to remind me that when your surrounded in love, family, and good vibes – your richer than if you had all the money you could ever dream of.
On top of being a next level, award-winning legend and a magically positive, independent free-spirit, Dolly is one of my absolute, top of the line style icons.
She is stylish, retro, and timeless. Some of her cute af looks you could even recreate today with a little modern flair:
Come on – a bomb ass jumpsuit and strappy heels.. DONE.
You guys – Canadian Tuxedo’s are all the rage for Spring 2018
Now would I wear a white off-the-shoulder corset dress? Probably not.
Would I wear a white off-the-shoulder top with some black distressed jeans, western inspired booties and a bandana choker or a bad ass squash blossom?
I would. I have. I will again.
