Fall is without a doubt, hands down, my favorite time of the year.
Its means flannel, bonfires, pumpkin everything and my favorite:
FOOTBALL.
While I throw parties every year for the start of the NFL season, the NFL Draft and i’m in more fantasy leagues than I can count.. It doesn’t feel 100% like fall until I go home.
Where’s home?
Appalachian State University.
Kidd Brewer Stadium.
The Rock.
Home of the Mountaineers.
My love for this place runs deep.
Part of the reason I applied in the first place was for the football team
(note: i’m a criminal justice major – aka nothing to do with the football team.. I just LOVE my ‘neers).
Weather it’s Taco’s at Tapp before seeing who’s come to town at Legends,
or hiking Rough Ridge for the most daringly, basic insta photo,
or just taking in the sights and sounds of King Street,
Boone is it’s own magical, free spirited, fascinating beast.
WORD TO THE WISE – IF I’M EVER ON DEATH ROW, BRING ME APP COOKIE CO. COOKIES AND AMB BEVERAGES
But my absolute, 100%, without a doubt, favorite thing to do in Boone is
TAILGATE.
It’s College Football, with a SUPER passionate fan base, in the South.
Tailgates are a RELIGION.
I wake up on game day and put more time and effort into my outfit and appearance than I do when I go to my 8-5.
ALL I need in life is my girls, a cold brew and to be in Boone on a fall day.
The memories, wild tales and friendships are the one’s that i’ll remember when i’m 80
… and still be talking about, because I can’t make some of this shit up, y’all.
I leave a little piece of my heart in Boone every time i’m there,
and I will FOREVER bleed Black & Gold.
until next time,
